The owner also said that Love has destroyed the 'work of art' inside the four-story townhouse and owes $55,000 in unpaid rent.

AceShowbiz - Courtney Love is accused of setting fire on the luxury NYC pad that she rents. The owner of the property consequently wants the rocker to move out of the "landmark luxury 4-story townhouse in Manhattan's West Village".

Love rents the townhouse for $27,000 a month. According to the owner, the place was custom designed by a famous architect and interior designer. The agreement is for Love not to mess with anything inside the place without permission but she reportedly has done some damages, including leaving burn marks.

The owner, Donna Lyon, said local Fire Department was called in to the fourth floor bedroom in June when curtains and bed linens went in flames due to a lit candle. Lyon believed the whole place was on fire after seeing the entire structure. Love reportedly made a $100,000 worth of damage.

In addition, "Courtney has wallpapered and painted a large portion of the property without my consent," Lyon said. "I learned about this when I wanted to sell the house and had photographs taken. They sent me the brochure and I said 'This can't be my property'. I came to New York to see it and was horrified by what had been done. The walls that had been hand painted and glazed were ruined, covered in damask wallpaper and ice blue paint."

Lyon has accused Love for destroying "the work of art" and is demanding the rocker to pay $55,000 in rent which she owes.
