The 'Mr. Know It All' singer will kick off the first leg of her tour in North America, and has chosen Matt Nathanson as her special guest.

AceShowbiz - Kelly Clarkson gets ready for a world tour in 2012. The Texas-born star, who claimed her fame after winning the inaugural season of "American Idol", will hit the road to support her latest studio album "Stronger" which debuted at No. 2 on Billboard Hot 200.

The "Mr. Know It All" singer will kick off the first leg of her tour on January 13 at MGM Grand Theater in Mashantucket, Connecticut. If there are no additional dates, she will wrap it up at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California on April 10.

The Grammy-winning singer has tapped folk rock musician Matt Nathanson to serve as an opening act for the upcoming North American leg. It's confirmed that tickets will be made available for public purchase starting November 18.

As a warm-up, Kelly will perform at 2011 "VH1 Divas" which will air December 19. She will pay tribute to the great cities of soul music along with New Yorker Mary J. Blige, Chicago singer Jennifer Hudson, Philadelphia native Jill Scott, as well as London acts Florence and the Machine and Jessie J.

It's not the first time Kelly sings at the event. Two years ago, she helped VH1 revive the special concert after a long hiatus alongside Leona Lewis, Adele, Miley Cyrus and fellow "Idol" alums J-Hud and Jordin Sparks.

For those who can't wait for December, they could watch Kelly's performances at VH1's "Unplugged" which will start to go viral in full on November 17. A sneak peek for the acoustic gig has been revealed.
