"The Voice" has crowned Javier Colon as the first winner. The soulful crooner, who was mentored by Adam Levine during the competition, receives a $100,000 prize and a recording contract after beating out three other finalists; Dia Frampton, Vicci Martinez and Beverly McClellan.

It turns out Javier's biggest competitor on the final result show was Dia. The Blake Shelton protege came in second place with only a slim, 2 percent margin between her and the ultimate champion. Still, Shelton gave his applause after the voting result was announced. Meanwhile, Adam rushed to the stage to hug Javier.

"Wow. Thank you. I don't even know where to begin other than to say that the three women behind here are absolutely awesome," Javier said humbly as confetti rained down on him. "I want to thank everybody at home who believed in me and voted for me and [I want to thank] my family."

Adam had been pretty confident that his protege Javier would win after watching his duet of "Landslide" with Stevie Nicks on the June 29 show. "I'm pretty speechless ... that was one of the most beautiful duets I've ever heard in my life," the Maroon 5 frontman said of the performance. "You're one of my heroes. Good luck ... you deserve to win this competition."

The other top 4 contestants also had a duet with famous singers during the result show. Dia performed with Shelton's wife Miranda Lambert, Vicci had a collaboration with Pat Monahan of Train, and Beverly took the stage with OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder.
