An aspiring actor and conspiracy theorist, Warren Allman, finds his reality unraveling in the offbeat comedy-drama Don Peyote. Played by Dan Fogler, who also co-directs, Warren becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth behind the world’s greatest mysteries, from the JFK assassination to alien cover-ups, much to the chagrin of his supportive but exasperated fiancée, portrayed by Anne Hathaway. When his obsessive quest leads him to abandon his wedding and embark on a cross-country road trip with his best friend, played by Josh Duhamel, Warren plunges headfirst into a psychedelic odyssey of self-discovery. Along the way, he encounters a colorful cast of oddballs and skeptics, including characters played by Jay Baruchel, Topher Grace, and Wallace Shawn, each pushing him further down the rabbit hole. Blending heartfelt drama with absurdist humor, the film follows Warren’s desperate search for meaning, blurring the lines between paranoia, enlightenment, and sheer madness as he questions everything he thought he knew about love, truth, and his own sanity.
