Playaz Circle emerged as a notable Southern hip-hop duo from College Park, Georgia, formed in 1997 by longtime friends Tauheed Epps and Earl Conyers, better known by their stage names 2 Chainz and Dolla Boy, respectively. Their journey to mainstream recognition was a slow burn, rooted in the local music scene and a persistent grind that eventually caught the ear of a major Atlanta star. Their claim to fame rests primarily on the massive success of their 2007 single "Duffle Bag Boy," a collaboration with Lil Wayne that became a street anthem and a commercial powerhouse.
The duo's big break arrived through a connection with fellow Atlanta rapper Ludacris, who signed Playaz Circle to his Disturbing tha Peace label, an imprint of Def Jam Recordings. This partnership provided the platform for their debut album, Supply & Demand, released in 2007. The album was propelled by "Duffle Bag Boy," which peaked at number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming their only entry on that chart and a defining track of the era.
