Alex's brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Michelle, are coming into town for a visit. Whitney is uncomfortable because Michelle is always too happy and Brian always talks down to Alex, but Alex convinces her to stick around for their visit. Whitney reluctantly agrees.
Before Brian and Michelle arrive, Mark, Lily and Roxanne stop by to borrow Alex's car for a Costco trip. Brian and Michelle arrive shortly after, and Brian immediately begins teasing his brother. Whitney is annoyed. Lily tells Whitney that she's planning to get Mark and Roxanne to hook up. They eventually find Alex's car but have trouble getting it out of the tight parking space.
Whitney and Michelle are in the kitchen preparing a meal for their men. Brian can't stop being a jerk to Alex. Alex tries to tell Whitney that his brother is just joking, but Whitney finally snaps and tells Brian off. Michelle pretends to be on Brian's side, but she's secretly envious of Whitney's guts. Meanwhile, Roxanne can't get the car out of the parking spot and Lily continues her awkward attempts to "set the mood."
Alex tries to convince Whitney to be patient with his brother. She apologizes to Brian, who immediately forgives her. During dinner, Michelle tries to get Whitney to speak her mind because she loves to see Brian put in his place. When Whitney won't get upset, Michelle snaps and gets angry with Whitney for not standing her ground.
Whitney has a heart-to-heart with Michelle, who tells her that she secretly admires Whitney's carefree attitude and courage. Meanwhile, Brian tells Alex that Whitney is a bad influence on Michelle. This finally convinces Alex to stand up to his brother. Alex tells Brian that he's not allowed to make fun of Whitney because she's off limits. Brian agrees and tells Alex that he's proud of him.
After Brian and Michelle leave, Whitney asks Alex if he wants her to be more "domestic." Alex says he likes Whitney just the way she is. Meanwhile, Roxanne still can't get the car out of the parking spot. Mark and Roxanne get into an argument, and Lily confesses that she set this trip up as a date because Mark and Roxanne belong together. Mark slips on ice and Roxanne accidentally calls him "honey." Lily is overjoyed.
