Whitney and Alex arrive at Low Bar to meet Lily, Roxanne and Mark. Whitney announces that she's meeting with her ex-boyfriend, Nate. She assumes that Nate wants to apologize to her for being such a terrible boyfriend when they were together. Roxanne orders a tequila shot, but Mark gives her a red wine instead. He insists that he knows what alcohol would be best for her based on her current condition.
Back at the apartment, Alex tells Whitney that he's uncomfortable with her meeting her ex-boyfriend because he sounds like a terrible person. Whitney insists that it will be fine and she'll get some closure from the conversation. Eventually, Alex comes around to the idea and supports Whitney.
At Low Bar, Roxanne orders a white wine. Mark tells her that she needs a vodka and Powerade instead, which makes her feel better. Whitney meets with her ex-boyfriend and the conversation quickly escalates to Nate being a jerk and Whitney becoming upset. Eventually, she stabs Nate with a breadstick. Nate insults Alex, and Alex is unable to come up with a witty retort.
The next day, Whitney feels great about her conversation with Nate. Alex, on the other hand, is craving revenge. He's come up with a list of great comebacks for Nate, and Whitney and Alex decide to go to Nate's work so that he can get even.
Whitney and Alex arrive at Nate's work and Alex confronts him. Nate blames his behavior on Whitney, and Alex becomes even more upset. Unable to control his rage, Alex pushes Nate to the floor and forces him to apologize.
Back at the bar, RJ tells Roxanne that she only comes to the bar to see Mark. Roxanne denies it, saying that she comes to the bar because she has a drinking problem, not a Mark problem. When Roxanne discovers that Mark is out running errands, she says she'll come back in a few hours, then realizes that RJ was right.
Whitney is impressed with Alex's manly behavior in Nate's shop. Whitney explains that nobody has ever stood up for her before. Alex, RJ and Mark run down their list of famous men who they think are attractive. The girls are baffled by their candor, but the guys don't seem to mind talking about their favorite men.
