Many centuries into the future, the Earth's population has dwindled to almost nothing -- but the survivors have discovered the key to time travel. Desperate to save humanity, a group enters the 21st century on a mission to avert disaster.
In this premiere Marcy, a learning disabled girl with epilepsy, is assaulted as she leaves work. After keeling over in agony, she rises to fight off her attackers. Trevor nearly dies in a boxing match, but he too is transformed and walks away. Philip, an addict, shoots up with a friend. Philip survivies, but his friend dies. Carly is nearly killed by the abusive father of her baby, but she survives. FBI agent MacLaren begins tracking them, but they explain that they are from the future and take over the bodies of people just before they are to die. MacLaren is then taken over as well and takes his place as leader of the group.
