Part 2 of "Saving Hope's" two-hour mid-season premiere continues. When a donor heart becomes available, Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance) and Dr. Dawn Bell (Michelle Nolden) jump at the opportunity to provide the ailing Leila (Samantha Kaine) with her sorely needed replacement.
Wanting the heart for himself, however, is the litigation-happy Elliot Stout, who's also on the transplant list. Ready to sue to get a heart, Elliot creates an ethical and legal dilemma for Hope Zion Hospital doctors with major repercussions. Dr. Charlie Harris (Michael Shanks) and Dr. Joel Goran (Daniel Gillies) meet a patient with exotic hardware implanted into his legs, only to discover that he's risked his health by resorting to Medical Tourism in the hopes of lengthening his limbs. After falling asleep in surgery, Dr. Maggie Lin (Julia Taylor Ross) is having a hard time balancing studying for the boards and fulfilling her hospital duties. When a patient forces her to think outside the box, she enlists Dr. James Dey (Mac Fyfe) to get back on track.
