Bill becomes involved with a single mother, Charlene who has returned to Arlen after being away for some years. When Charlene introduces her two children to Hank, Dale and Boomhauer, Dale immediately dislikes her oldest, Kate. He confides in Hank that he thinks something is wrong with Kate and that he intends to get to the bottom of it. When he discovers similarities between Kate's DNA and Joseph's, his son, and realizes that they are half-siblings. Not wanting Bill to raise his daughter, Dale tries to sabotage his relationship by asking John Redcorn to seduce Charlene. Charlene and John have an affair while Bill takes care of Charlene's kids. After weeks, with no break up of Charlene and Bill in sight, Dale reveals to Bill what he's discovered and blows the whistle on John and Charlene.
