We spend three momentous holidays-Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve-with the staff of Seattle Grace.

Mark-and we-are stunned when a beautiful blonde walks into the ER and tells him, "I'm pretty sure you're my dad!" Turns out, she's right, the product of a youthful affair that Mark would rather forget. Mark feels so guilty, he lets 18-year-old Sloan (yes, her mother named her after him!) stay with him and Lexie indefinitely. Lexie is a champ-even if she cuts off part of her finger at the news that Sloan is moving in-but finally gives Mark an ultimatum: "No more sex until you talk to her." Sloan says she knows she's overstayed her welcome, but confesses she's pregnant and has nowhere else to go. Mark hugs her and lets her stay.

Cristina is loving Teddy, her new cardio god, until she catches the longing looks Owen is sending Teddy's way. Owen, realizing that Cristina caught him, confronts Teddy about why she chose to tell him how she feels. She's sure it doesn't matter, since he doesn't feel the same way, but we know he does! "I had all these feelings for you and you never gave me anything," he yells. "You were engaged!" she yells back. She tells him, "I have loved you forever. I have loved you every second of every day," and wow, we really feel for her when Owen tells her, "I'm in love with Cristina," and walks away. Cristina offers to let Owen go, saying, "I don't want you to be with me because you feel like you owe me something." He kisses her fiercely and insists, "I love you." When she asks Owen, "Are you sure?" we're pretty sure he means it. But not 100 percent.

Miranda's father, Bill, shows up out of the blue for the holidays and scolds her for not telling him or her mother that she was getting a divorce. We cringe when he tells her he's disappointed that instead of being with her family on Christmas, she's operating on some fat guy's hernia! We're really proud of Miranda for finally telling her father to back off-even if she chooses to do it over Christmas dinner at Meredith and Derek's! "You and mom showed me what true love looked like, so I didn't settle," she tells her father. "And I'm happier for it. Even if I'm alone at Christmas. My child is healthy and I'm happy. That's enough for me." We're happy when he finally admits he was mostly worried for her, and hurt at not being told about the divorce.

At Christmas, with everyone gathered at Meredith and Derek's, Thatcher notices that Richard is drinking. Meredith shrugs it off, saying, "Everyone drinks egg nog at Christmas," but Thatcher points out, "Recovering alcoholics don't." Meredith doesn't see that Richard's got a problem, not until Joe pages her on New Year's Eve: Richard is nearly falling-down drunk and he's worried that word will get out. We wonder, now that she knows, if Meredith will continue to keep Richard's secret.
