A fresh batch of surgical residents enters the hospital. The veteran docs mock all the newbies as Richard gives them "the speech." Later, Stephanie is assigned her batch of chicks and ducks. She lays out the rules. The last one being that if anyone complains, they die. Good to know. In other news, Owen declares that he's been Chief long enough. It's time to do something else. Richard will be recommending Bailey for the job.

Jackson is in the middle of hearing how April has changed since her time in combat from his bride-to-be mom when news comes in of a tragedy. Ambulances roll into the hospital with no survivors inside. There was a tunnel collapse. Nearly 20 vehicles were trapped under rubble. Rescue workers are searching for survivors. Thankfully, live patients start rolling in. Catherine rolls in as well to help. What better way to spend one's wedding day?

A pregnant woman, Joan, is assisted by a passerby doctor named Andrew DeLuca. Her fiance, Keith, is still trapped in the car. Richard clears Meredith to go into the field with a team. Maggie, Amelia and April also head out to the tunnel site. Joan's fiance, Keith, is in the center of the chaos. His crushed car rests upside down with him still inside. As for Joan, Arizona, Callie and Andrew work to save her and the baby.

Meredith, Maggie, Amelia and April work to save Keith. The guy is in really bad shape. April is the only one who has the courage to declare that this one is a lost cause. She'll be there for Keith as they cut him loose knowing full well that he'll likely die when they do. At the hospital, Joan overhears interns saying that Keith can't be saved. She has trouble breathing. An intern does something that may paralyze her. Stephanie wants Andrew to help her fix the situation. He can't. Stephanie is shocked to learn that he's just an intern.

Seventeen-year-old Scott is in bad shape after being crushed in the collapse. Owen wants to "stop time" by basically putting him a state of suspended animation to help repair his body. Jackson is against this "Hail Mary" procedure. His mother backs him. Alex and Richard back Owen. That's all the consent that's needed. They have 90 minutes to do their thing. After some tense moments, Scott is revived. Richard believes he made the right call as the deciding vote to save the boy. Catherine disagrees.

With the big Richard-Catherine wedding put on hold, all the food has been shuffled over to the hospital. Arizona wonders how many sliders she can down before she has to jump back into action. She questions Bailey as to why anyone would want to be Chief. In other news, Jackson makes peace with Owen after their difference of opinion about Scott. He admits that he doesn't know who April is anymore. Owen advises him to give her time.

As they return to the hospital, Amelia unleashes some pent up feelings on Meredith. She wonders how she knows when it's time to give up all hope on a situation. Her outburst is really about how Meredith didn't call her when Derek was dying. Amelia believes she could have pulled off a miracle. She didn't get to say goodbye. This has Meredith momentarily breaking down in tears once Amelia storms off. She quickly gathers herself together before going back to work.

Meredith is considering selling her house. Even though she came back, she doesn't feel like she's home. She asks Alex if she and the kids can move in to his place for a spell. Of course, the answer is yes. No need to check with Jo. Alex is still feeling the aftershocks of the blowup they had about possibly doing work in combat.

Joan begins to feel things in her body as she goes into labor. Arizona has to start the delivery in the elevator. Once the baby comes, a tearful Joan is devastated because Keith isn't there. Elsewhere, Maggie gets some distressing news from her mother. She puts whatever she's feeling on hold. More traumas are coming in.

Meredith, Amelia and Maggie are shocked to see a flatbed truck pull up outside the hospital. It's carrying the car that has Keith pinned inside. They all said the guy would have a chance if he were closer to the hospital. So April brought him closer to the hospital. Once everyone gets over the shock of this incredible move, it's time to get to work.
