Meanwhile, Basie Skanks, the bishop and Jacob meet to discuss an opportunity at Basie's church, Triumph. Basie is looking to bring Jacob on board, and the bishop, much to Jacob's surprise, offers his blessing.
Deacon Sykes suggests that Calvary hold a Women's Day at a smaller venue and asks Lady Mae whether she'll let Grace preach for the summer, pointing out that the last time Grace preached, she raked in the second-largest offering of the year.
Elsewhere, Mavis runs into problems with her club when Mac calls in a favor at city hall. While she's packing up, Grace pays a visit to discuss her future. Grace says she has no intention of leaving Memphis but doesn't know why. Mavis urges her to leave town now that Mac is safely behind bars.
Finally, Adrian gets the wrong idea about his dinner with Kevin, which ends in Adrian abruptly walking out of the restaurant. Later, after a conversation with Lady Mae, Kevin decides to tell Charity that he's attracted to men. During their intense conversation, Charity takes a nasty fall that puts their unborn children at risk.
