Mac's (Gregory Alan Williams) attempt to blackmail the Bishop (Keith David, "Community") is thwarted by Grace (Merle Dandridge). Grace has to deal with Sophia's (Desiree Ross) father,Ray (guest star Michael Rodrick), who has doubts about Grace's parenting. Charity (Deborah Joy Winans), fed up with being disrespected, finally speaks up.

A gunshot rings out through the halls of Calvary. Lady Mae and Grace rush into Mac's office to find him sitting on the floor, bleeding from his arm, and the bishop holding a gun. Mac and the bishop discourage the family from calling 911, and the bishop refuses to explain why they don't want the police involved. Grace ignores his wishes, however, and Mac is sent to the hospital while the police take the bishop away in handcuffs.

For opaque reasons, the bishop begins to oust Grace from Calvary affairs. First, he asks her to leave the deacon board meeting. Then, his secretary blocks her from entering his office.

Amid the chaos at Calvary, Sophia's father, Ray, shows up. He's not happy about the recent shootings nor the fact that his daughter was in the presence of a child molester, both of which fail to inspire confidence in Grace's parenting abilities. Grace pushes back, but Ray insists that he'll fight for custody of his daughter. He and Sophia have a talk, and while he realizes his daughter likes living in Memphis, he refuses to set aside his agenda.

Taking stock of the fallout at work and at home, Charity realizes she was kept out of the loop about Mac's sexual crimes, the shooting at Calvary and Isabel canceling her wedding. Fed up with being disrespected, she finally speaks up during a tense family dinner. Meanwhile, Kevin is still banned from their bedroom.

Elsewhere, Isabel confronts Noah but leaves a little hope that they could reunite in the future, Grace ignores a call from Mavis, and Lady Mae pays a visit to Mac's hospital room and issues a damning rebuke of his behavior.
