On the day he's set to receive the Memphis Man of the Year award, Mac (Gregory Alan Williams) juggles a variety of tasks for the Greenleaf clan both in his capacity as chief counsel and as a family member.
First, he cautions Charity (Deborah Joy Winans) about hiring Carlton, a candidate to become Calvary's new music director, because he has a couple of discrimination lawsuits in his past. Mac also assists Jacob (Lamman Rucker) with the details of his television pitch to Bishop Greenleaf (Keith David).
However, Mac's day soon begins to unravel when his mounting paranoia about Grace's (Merle Dandridge) designs to bring him to justice finally spirals out of control. To make matters worse, just as the IRS audit of the church is heating up, he makes a serious mistake with the auditors that ultimately puts him on thin ice with the bishop.
Later, after Mac's father sees his son's name in the paper, the old man reappears at Calvary in hopes of getting some money, much to Lady Mae's (Lynn Whitfield) chagrin.
