An open and shut tort case against a popular local restaurant explodes into a high stakes legal battle with a goliath pharmaceutical company, while the fate of a critically injured young man hangs in the balance. When Lisa takes on a case with a young woman who went into cardiac arrest in a local eatery, it turns into a much larger case when our guys find a young man that was treated with the same incorrect medication for an allergic reaction in a restaurant. This boy was left practically as a vegetable. His mother has to take care of him full time, and he has no life beyond his wheel chair. Nick and Pete convince Lisa, against her will, to back burner the case with the woman until they set precedent with the young man's case. In the mean time Lisa has engaged in a romantic entanglement with DA Ward. This is being kept secret, but Zoey is convinced that Lisa looks especially glowy lately, and through the whole story Zoey is trying to figure out who she is dating.
