Crowded Episode 1.02 Present Tense

With Stella (Mia Serafino) and Shea (Miranda Cosgrove) home again, Mike (Patrick Warburton) and Martina (Carrie Preston) haven't been able to have alone time like they used to. And it doesn't help that when the family's all together, the girls never miss an opportunity to bag on dad. When Stella sleeps with a girl, for example, Mike is confused by her sudden change of sexuality, but Stella counters that Martina slept with a woman, too - a fact Mike didn't know about. Bummed about being deemed "vanilla," Mike turns to his dad (Stacy Keach) for advice. Surprisingly, Bob encourages Mike to spice things up and recommends watching porn for inspiration.

Martina gets her own wake-up call about her marriage when she makes a dating profile for Mike while helping Stella craft one for Shea. Seeing the bevy of young, beautiful and pierced women interested in Mike, Martina panics. Her insecurities only worsen when she catches Mike watching porn starring younger women. Determined to keep Mike's interest, Martina gets her nose pierced, while Mike receives more advice from Bob and Alice (Carlease Burke), who tell him to make a bold move. He does just that when he runs into Martina's office and declares they should have sex on the desk. Unfortunately, there's a client in the room, too.

Finally alone, Mike and Martina consider having sex on the desk, the couch and the table before admitting none of these things is their style. They both come clean about their insecurities before recognizing the problem: the girls. Stella and Shea make them feel like parents again, sapping the sexiness from their relationship. To get their spark back, Mike and Martina tell Stella and Shea they're no longer going to behave like parents and kids, but rather, adult roommates. And two of these adult roommates have sex to get to.
