After Michael's elimination, Jeff clears the air by insisting that his decision to vote Michael off was not a strategic game-play move. He says that Francy simply motivates him more than Michael did. The other contestants see Jeff's angle and discuss how tough decisions will have to be made every week going forward. Afterward, they head to the gym to meet Alison, who has a surprise in store for them.

Alison tells the contestants that if they lose a combined 70 pounds as a group, every contestant will earn immunity for the week. If they don't lose at least 70 pounds, the contestants will face a red line in this week's elimination, and one contestant will be automatically eliminated. Seventy pounds is a lot, but Alison offers the contestants a chance to lower that total weight with a calorie quiz. Luckily, they'll have the help of the Biggest Loser kids.

The kids participate in a quiz featuring a series of trivia questions regarding calories and health foods. Every correct answer drops a pound off of the contestants' weigh-ins. It's a huge prize, and the pressure is on. The kids can knock additional pounds off of the weigh-in if they improve on their Fitness Test results. The kids perform fantastically, and in the end, they knock nine pounds off the contestants' total weight goal.

Later, the contestants hit the gym to work off the collective 61 pounds they need to avoid the red line. Dolvett cracks down on Gina, and Joe begins teasing her. Enraged, Gina leaves the gym. The tensions are high, and the pressure is getting to the contestants. Nonetheless, they'll have to work together this week to avoid elimination. Dolvett talks to Gina outside and convinces her to come back into the gym.

Jillian struggles to get Alex working hard. In fact, it seems like all the contestants are giving up on their workouts today. When Jillian complains to the other trainers that everyone is being lazy, Gina decides she has had enough. She leaves the gym and does not return for the rest of the workout. The trainers spend some time working with the kids who, unlike the contestants, are unstoppable.

After the workout, Jillian tries to tell Alex that she's not working up to her potential. Alex tells Jillian that she never feels like she's living up to her potential. It's a pattern that Alex has been dealing with her whole life, and Jillian decides to break the wall down. Bob tells Gina that she's sabotaging her own chances of winning the show, and that she'll need to stay focused to avoid elimination.

The next day, the contestants head to the beach for this week's challenge. They must dig through 10 enormous sand hills and uncover signs that will lead them to a flagpole. The contestants must work together and cooperate. It's slow and exhausting, but eventually they complete the challenge with three seconds to spare. That drops another 10 pounds off their combined weight-loss goal to avoid the red line.

When they return to the ranch, the contestants get a visit from Jared Fogle, who brings a Subway lunch and talks to the contestants about his weight-loss journey. It's an inspiring story from a person who accomplished the same goals they're striving for. Jared also tells them that the winner of this season's Biggest Loser will also be featured in a Subway commercial.

The next day, the trainers take the contestants to a nearby hill where they're introduced to a ropes course. The trainers deliberately pair the contestants with people they have been at odds with. As an added bonus, Bob and Dolvett will also be participating.

It's time for the weekly weigh-in, and the trainers are nervous that the contestants didn't work hard enough this week. It's been a week wrought with frustration and devoid of patience and focus. Without further ado, the weigh-in begins. Danni dropped seven pounds; Joe shed six pounds; Jackson lost five pounds; Alex relinquished three pounds.

Jeff pulls a four-pound loss; Gina shed four pounds, and Francy drops two pounds. The contestants are nowhere close to their cumulative group weight, and all of their numbers are lower than normal. In the end, Francy dropped the least amount of weight, so she'll be headed home automatically. Francy was a motivation and an inspiration to contestants and trainers alike, and her presence will be greatly missed.
