After having a major disagreement about whose work is more important, Sheldon and Amy Farrah Fowler decide to end their relationship. As a means of coping, Sheldon begins to acquire cats for companionship. When the number of cats reaches 25, Leonard steps in and brings in the big guns - Sheldon's mother. Lauri Metcalf guest stars again as Sheldon's mother, Mary. She flies in from Texas to help Sheldon get out of his funk over Amy. She calls a meeting, inviting Amy, where she points out that Amy is all worng for Sheldon. Sheldon automatically rejects his mother's opinion, and suggests to Amy that they restart their relationship. Amy agrees, and Shedlon's mother has won by using reverse psychology.
