In "The One Where They Build a House," the Bluth family embarks on an ambitious project to construct a model home, hoping to attract buyers and save their dwindling finances. Michael Bluth, played by Jason Bateman, takes the lead, attempting to manage his eccentric family members through the chaotic process. Meanwhile, Lindsay, portrayed by Portia de Rossi, struggles with her commitment to the project while trying to impress her husband Tobias, played by Will Arnett, who is preoccupied with his own theatrical aspirations.

As the family works together, the absurdity escalates, especially when George-Michael, played by Michael Cera, and his cousin Maeby, portrayed by Alia Shawkat, become distracted by their own schemes. The episode cleverly juxtaposes the family's dysfunctional dynamics with the earnestness of their building endeavor, leading to comedic misunderstandings and unexpected revelations. Throughout the chaos, Michael's patience is tested as he grapples with his role as the family's reluctant leader in this hilariously misguided attempt at redemption.
