Westlife Rule Out Reunion With Brian McFadden
Music

In line with Kian Egan's previous statement, Shane Filan and Nicky Byrne agree a reunion is out of the question.

AceShowbiz - Irish pop stars Westlife have ruled out following in the footsteps of Take That by reuniting with former member Brian McFadden, insisting a nostalgia tour is out of the question. British singer Robbie Williams recently rejoined Take That and last month they announced plans for their first concerts together in 15 years.

McFadden left Westlife in 2004 to pursue a solo career and singer Kian Egan has previously insisted a reunion won't happen because the star left the band "for a reason". Now fellow singer Shane Filan has spoken out to insist the recent Take That reformation hasn't inspired them to regroup - and they're adamant McFadden would be unhappy with a reunion.

Filan tells Britain's Hello! magazine, "He left because he didn't like what Westlife were. Robbie got kicked out of Take That, but Brian left of his own accord. He wasn't happy. If he did come back, we'd be thinking every day, 'Is he happy with what we're doing now?'"

Bandmember Nicky Byrne insists all four singers are still friends with McFadden - but agrees a reunion is out of the question. He adds: "We get on with Brian. When we were in L.A. recently we went to dinner with him and it was great fun. But he's been out of the band for nearly seven years and I couldn't see him fitting in now."

"We've done more tours without him than Robbie ever did with Take That and we didn't split up after he left. It'd be great to get on stage and do a song with Brian for the fans, but I couldn't see him rejoining."
