Josh Brolin Proud of Bar Altercation Which Landed Him in Jail
Celebrity

The 'Jonah Hex' star claims he will never change anything during a Louisiana bar encounter which landed him in prison, reasoning 'Going to jail that time was for an excellent reason.'

AceShowbiz - Josh Brolin wears his 2008 jail time as a badge of honor because he's proud he stood up for "W" co-star Jeffrey Wright in a Louisiana bar encounter. The actors were arrested and charged with interfering with police business following the altercation at the Stray Cat bar in Shreveport but the charges against both have since been dropped.

And Brolin insists he'd do what he did all over again, whatever the consequences, because he hates bar bullies. He tells Playboy magazine, "Going to jail that time was for an excellent reason: Jeffrey Wright didn't do anything... I don't like bullies. I don't like when people are mistreated."

"There was a bartender and other people, and I said to these guys, 'You have to be able to look me in the eye and acknowledge that it's wrong that this guy's going to jail. I want you to have some integrity about your own f**king decision. I'm a big guy. You get scared and want to put me down? I get it. Pepper spray my face and I get confrontational; I don't get violent.' I got slammed on the ground at that point."

Wright was tasered in the fracas and Brolin's assistant was arrested for "asking too many questions". The "Jonah Hex" star adds, "She was more assaulted than anybody else. The back of her head was slammed on the ground. I heard this melon-like squish and she wound up with a baseball-size swelling on her head. I freaked out because I kept saying, 'She didn't do anything'."
