Celebrity

Been homeschooled since she was 10 years old, Cosgrove can't wait to mingle with others in New York University.

AceShowbiz - Teen singer/actress Miranda Cosgrove wants to step out of the spotlight and become a New York University student.

The 16-year-old School of Rock and "iCarly" star has been homeschooled since the fifth grade - when she was 10 - in order to pursue her Hollywood career, but now Cosgrove admits she'd like to take a break from singing and acting and focus on her studies full-time. She says, "I want to (go to university) really bad. I want to go to NYU actually."

Cosgrove is indeed paying huge attention to education. She teamed up with Quaker Oats for Quaker Chewy Afterschool Rocks to extend access to affordable, quality after-school programs to students across the country. "It's really cool," she told MTV News. "They're bringing after-school programming back to schools."
