Despite reports suggesting celebrities were offended by his prank during 2010 Golden Globe Awards, Ricky Gervais claims, 'they were all great about it' and he had 'a nice reaction from everybody'.

AceShowbiz - Ricky Gervais has defended his risque routine at Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday, January 17 - insisting none of the celebrities he poked fun at were offended by his jokes. The British funnyman has received mixed reviews for his efforts hosting the glitzy awards show, after making a series of gags about stars in the audience.
At one point Gervais poked fun at Mickey Rourke's big build, saying, "I haven't got a bad word to say about him... mainly because he has arms as big as my legs." Throughout the show he also joked about Mel Gibson's love of drinking and Sir Paul McCartney's divorce from Heather Mills.
Gervais previously revealed that McCartney had sought him out backstage and told him he "loved" the Mills gag, and the comic insists all his targets took his jokes in similar good humor. In a post on his personal blog, Gervais writes, "Mickey Rourke thinks I'm cool. I would never argue with him. I should take this opportunity to say what a good sport everyone was, by the way."
"I know some of the reports have said they were upset, but it's not true. I also continued to tease them after the show and they were all great about it. I've had such a nice reaction from everybody. Just well wishers everywhere saying they enjoyed the show."
Gervais also used his appearance at the Golden Globes to slip in a cheeky mention about the DVD release of his latest movie, "The Invention of Lying", and admits his ploy worked perfectly. He adds, "The Invention of Lying DVD sold about 70,000 copies in a couple of hours today. My shameless plug seems to have worked. Ha ha."
