Ever wondered what Ricky Gervais would say if he were hosting the 2025 Golden Globes? Well, the British comedian has got you covered with a lengthy post on social media.

AceShowbiz - Comedian Ricky Gervais recently took to X/Twitter to reveal some of the jokes he would have made if he were hosting this year's Golden Globe Awards. Gervais, who has hosted the ceremony five times, last graced the Globes stage in 2020.
Indulging in a hypothetical situation, Gervais wrote, "Sat in the bath wondering about what I would say if I were hosting The Golden Globes on Sunday. It's been a pretty good year for material."
Gervais went on to share parts of his eccentric and often controversial monologue. "Hello, and welcome to the 82nd Golden Globe awards," his post began, "What a year it's been. Hundreds of entertainers jumped at the chance to go to The Vatican to meet The Pope. Many from Hollywood. Obviously they weren't content with only being part of the second biggest pedo ring in the world..."
This eyebrow-raising introduction was accompanied by jokes aimed at Justin Timberlake and Kevin Hart. Highlighting Timberlake's DUI conviction, Gervais joked, "If he'd have gone to jail he'd have heard the words 'Sexy Back' a lot more often."
The comedian didn't stop there. He poked fun at Kevin Hart with a reference to Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' notorious parties, where Hart allegedly felt uncomfortable due to Diddy's attentions. Gervais quoted Hart's outburst, "Imma midget, not a child."
Although Gervais can freely share his barbs on social media, it's Nikki Glaser who will be taking on the actual hosting duties at this year's awards.
Glaser, who gained significant recognition for her viral performance at Netflix's roast of Tom Brady, is set to make history as the first woman to host the Golden Globes solo.
Speaking to Variety, Glaser explained her strategy for the ceremony, stating, "I don't think I can be as honest as I want to be, to communicate my feelings about some of these nominees that I don't think deserve it... It's about figuring out where the line is."
She promised viewers a performance in the same comedic vein that won her the Golden Globes hosting gig, albeit with a different tone suited for the occasion.
The 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards will air this Sunday, January 5 at 8pm ET on CBS. If her jokes at Netflix's Tom Brady roast special were any indication, Nikki Glaser's comedic chops are sure to bring plenty of entertainment to the event.
