AceShowbiz - Shrek has returned home for its 25th anniversary. The Oscar-winning animated classic was released on 4K Ultra HD and in a Limited Edition Steelbook on November 3, 2026, from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

The anniversary edition features a newly remastered 4K presentation with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, offering an enhanced home viewing and listening experience. The release also includes 30 minutes of brand-new bonus content that explores the making of the film.

Among the new extras is the featurette Origin of an Ogre, in which the creative team behind Shrek reflects on the origins of the groundbreaking animated classic and shares stories from the making of the beloved fairy tale adventure. Additional bonus features include A Tale of Two Friends: The Art of the Quest, Spotlight on Donkey, and Secrets of Shrek, which uncovers Easter eggs tucked throughout the film.

The release also carries ten short films, including Shrek in the Swamp Karaoke Dance Party, Far Far Away Idol, and Scared Shrekless, plus five episodes from The Adventures of Puss in Boots TV series. Deleted scenes, a DreamWorks Animation video jukebox, the Baha Men music video for Best Years of Our Lives, the Smash Mouth music video for I'm a Believer, and a Shrek the Musical number are also included. A feature commentary with directors Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson and producer Aron Warner rounds out the package.

The film showcases the voice talents of Mike Myers as Shrek, Eddie Murphy as Donkey, Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona, and John Lithgow as Lord Farquaad. Shrek won the first Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and has since spawned three movie sequels, with another on the way, holiday-themed specials, a spin-off feature film and TV series, and theme park integration.

The 4K Ultra HD disc and Limited Edition Steelbook are both available now, each presented in 16:9 1.85:1 widescreen with Dolby Vision and HDR10. The film is rated PG for mild language and some crude humor and has a run time of 1:31:00.
