AceShowbiz - Swayvo Twain, son of D'Angelo and Angie Stone, has been cast to portray the legendary rapper The Notorious B.I.G. in the highly anticipated biopic about Snoop Dogg. The casting announcement was confirmed by Variety on September 8, 2026. Swayvo, whose real name is Michael D'Angelo Archer II, will take on the iconic role in the film, marking a significant step in his career.
Alongside Swayvo Twain, rapper G Perico has been cast as Big Reecie Cup, known as one of Snoop Dogg’s early mentors. The movie’s cast also includes Camron Jones as Tupac Shakur, Lauren London portraying Snoop’s late mother, Algee Smith playing Warren G, and Myles Bullock Be as Dr. Dre. Leading the film as Snoop Dogg himself is Jonathan Daviss, known for his role in Outer Banks.
In a prior interview with Entertainment Tonight from June 2025, Snoop Dogg shared his reasons for choosing Jonathan Daviss to represent him on screen. He praised Daviss as a dynamic actor with a great spirit and a strong willingness to learn, qualities that helped bring authenticity to the project.
The biopic is being produced by Brian Grazer, best known for his work on 8 Mile, and directed by Craig Brewer, whose credits include Hustle & Flow. This film will be released by Universal Pictures and is the first project under Death Row Pictures' overall deal with NBCUniversal Entertainment.
