AceShowbiz - Skrillex is set to unveil his new creative platform, Contra, with its inaugural event scheduled for late May in Berlin.

The debut edition of Contra will take place over two days, May 30 and 31, at the iconic Berlin Kraftwerk venue. This sprawling cultural space, housed in a former power station, will host a lineup featuring over 70 artists specializing in electronic and experimental music genres. The roster includes Skrillex himself alongside collaborators and fellow musicians such as Ahadadream, Bladee, Blawan, Nai Barghouti with Thys & Péter Somos, BNYX, Ecco2k, and Tohji x Mechatok.

Although not officially listed on the lineup, frequent Skrillex partner Boys Noize hinted at a potential surprise appearance by posting a cryptic comment on the event’s Instagram page, saying, "I wonder who ??? is."

The event’s spatial and environmental design will be handled by Paris-based studio Matiere Noire. The studio is known for creating immersive atmospheres by transforming large-scale venues into intimate spaces that blur the lines between light and sound. Matiere Noire’s previous work includes scenography projects for major fashion brands like Courrèges, MM6, Cartier, and Chanel.

With the event less than two weeks away, tickets for Contra’s debut are currently available for purchase. The announcement comes as part of Skrillex’s ongoing engagements, with upcoming festival appearances lined up at Bonnaroo, Dekmantel, Boomtown, Sziget, Austin City Limits, and the new Goldenvoice concept event Head Trip at Coachella’s grounds this October. This festival bill features other prominent artists including Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, Peggy Gou, Four Tet, Dom Dolla, Kettama, The Blessed Madonna, and Ben Sterling.

The Contra platform is designed to evolve and take multiple forms in the future, but its first edition promises a landmark gathering of electronic and experimental talent, emphasizing innovation across sound and visual experiences.
