AceShowbiz - Five-time Grammy winner Shania Twain is preparing to release her seventh studio album, Little Miss Twain, scheduled for July 24 via Republic Nashville. This new project arrives as Twain is set to host the ACM Awards on May 17, marking an exciting period for the country superstar.
The lead single from the album, "Dirty Rosie," showcases Twain's storytelling talent. Co-written by her, the song explores a narrative about a lover whose unpredictable behavior contrasts with the steadfastness of her beloved truck, adding a fresh yet familiar vibe to her discography.
Reflecting on the album’s themes, Twain shared, "A lot of Little Miss Twain is reflective of my teens, my roots as well as the energy of the rock and R&B I loved so much, but still with that Western twang." She elaborated on the unique blend of influences, noting the contrast between her upbringing and the Western lifestyle she imagined: "Where I'm from you don't go anywhere on a horse - you go on a snowmobile. I was dreaming about the Western lifestyle and I was living in a very different world than where I ended up."
Speaking further about the creative process to Billboard, Twain explained that the album was crafted both musically and narratively from deep reflections on her childhood. She said, "The album was written storywise and also sonically, musically, based on a lot of reflection on my childhood, whether it's stories reflecting back to my youth or whether it is music that influenced me most as a child and as a teen. I've brought all of that together."
Little Miss Twain follows the release of her 2023 album Queen of Me, and continues the momentum from her global Queen of Me Tour and Las Vegas residencies. Twain has built a lasting career with iconic hits like "Any Man of Mine," "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!" and "You're Still The One," along with one of the best-selling albums ever, 1997’s Come On Over.
Looking ahead to live performances, Twain is slated to join Harry Styles for a 12-night concert run at London's Wembley Stadium starting in June. Additionally, she will headline a special one-off show on July 7 at Thomond Park Stadium in Limerick City, Ireland, promising fans an unforgettable experience.
Listeners can get a first taste of the new album through the single "Dirty Rosie," which highlights the fresh yet reflective direction of Twain's upcoming work.
