While attending the People's Choice Country Awards, Shania Twain expresses her delight at Sabrina Carpenter's cover of her hit song, performed during Carpenter's recent 'Short n' Sweet' tour.

AceShowbiz - Shania Twain shared a video of Sabrina Carpenter's cover on her Instagram Stories, featuring the young singer performing the 1997 hit during a show in Toronto. The performance was part of Carpenter's segment where she performs random covers selected by a wheel of fortune.

Speaking to E! on the red carpet of the People's Choice Country Awards, which Twain hosted, the singer expressed her appreciation for Carpenter's tribute. "It's just a huge compliment. I mean, she's such a talented person! She's smart, so it's a compliment," she gushed.

Twain also noted that the cover was particularly fitting, given her Ontario roots. Additionally, she is a nominee for the concert tour of 2024 category for her residency, "Shania Twain: Come On Over-The Las Vegas Residency- All The Hits!"

"It's a really full-circle experience for me," Twain told Billboard about hosting the event. "It takes me back to my own beginnings in Nashville and as a new recording artist there."

Carpenter's cover of "That Don't Impress Me Much" has garnered praise for its authenticity and respect for Twain's original.
