AceShowbiz - NBC has officially announced its lineup for the upcoming Fall TV season, showcasing a blend of new dramas, comedies, and returning favorites. Following CBS, NBC revealed where fresh series will slot in, which shows are shifting time slots, and what will be reserved for midseason premieres.
The season will open on Monday, September 14, with NBC airing the 78th Emmy Awards, hosted by a talent yet to be announced. Later, on Thursday, December 10, NBC will celebrate its centennial with a live three-hour variety special, honoring "a century of must-see television, groundbreaking moments, and iconic stars."
One of the most anticipated new series is the Peter Krause-led law enforcement drama, Line of Fire. This show will air Mondays at 10 p.m., following the popular singing competition The Voice, which enters its milestone 30th season. The upcoming season of The Voice will feature returning coaches Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson, alongside newcomer Riley Green, with a fourth coach to be announced later.
Thursday nights will introduce an all-civilian version of The Traitors, adapted from the Peacock hit reality show. Airing at 8 p.m., it will lead into Season 28 of Law & Order: SVU, which moves to a 9 p.m. slot. The flagship Law & Order series will shift to 10 p.m. NBC's Dick Wolf dramas — including Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. — will each produce 21 episodes next season, according to NBC’s President of Program Planning Strategy Jeff Bader.
Friday nights will feature the new multi-camera comedy Newlyweds, starring real-life couple Tea Leoni and Tim Daly. Executive producer Jamie Lee Curtis will also have a recurring role in the series. Newlyweds will air at 8:30 p.m., following Season 3 of the comedy Happy’s Place.
Looking ahead to midseason, NBC has lined up several noteworthy projects. The reboot of The Rockford Files, starring David Boreanaz, will premiere Thursdays at 8 p.m. in January. Additionally, the Jake Johnson comedy Sunset P.I. is set for Mondays at 8:30 p.m. starting in February. On the unscripted front, Savannah Guthrie will host a new game show titled Wordle, produced by Jimmy Fallon, and Season 2 of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s reality competition Destination X will also debut midseason.
The status of the drama The Hunting Party, which aired Thursdays at 10 p.m. this past spring, remains uncertain. When asked about renewal plans and the possibility of a move to Peacock given NBC’s tight scheduling, Lisa Katz, President of Scripted Content at NBC and Peacock, stated, "We're discussing all things, and hope to have some clarity soon."
