AceShowbiz - Carín León launches his latest album Muda today, May 7, marking the end of a creative phase defined by musical experimentation and bold genre blending. Released through Socios Music, Virgin Music Group, and Island Records, this 14-track album showcases a diverse range of styles, from ska and soul to norteño and salsa, highlighting León's renowned versatility and artistic growth.

During a press conference in Mexico City on May 5, the 36-year-old artist described Muda as a representation of his “unfulfilled musical desires” and a project that allowed him to explore sounds he had long wished to pursue. Notably, the album features collaborations with Colombian rocker Juanes and Venezuelan trip-pop group Rawayana. The track “Carranga” merges the cultural influences of Mexico and Colombia, while “Bingo” brings an energetic salsa vibe with Rawayana’s signature style.

In addition to new songs, the album includes previously released singles such as “La Buena,” which stays true to the regional Mexican genre, and “Ruca,” where León surprised fans by incorporating disco elements into his sound.

The album title, Muda, carries multiple layers of meaning. In Spanish, it can mean silence or a change of clothes. León explained that it also connects to his hometown Hermosillo, referencing the silent 'h', as well as symbolizing a shedding or transformation—akin to changing one’s skin. Furthermore, the title ties into the recurring theme of the mouth, a motif present in his previous albums Palabra De Tos, Colmillo de Leche, and Boca Chueca.

Known for hits like “Primera Cita,” “Te Lo Agradezco,” and “Según Quién,” León is preparing to embark on his North American tour, De Sonora Para El Mundo, starting May 20 in Hidalgo, Texas. This extensive 40-date tour will include seven historic shows at The Sphere in Las Vegas, making him the first Latin artist to perform at this iconic venue.
