AceShowbiz - The Road to Nevermore is set to feature William Baldwin and Leo Gregory in leading roles, marking an exciting addition to this upcoming film written and directed by Jane Spencer, known for her work on Little Noises.
The story centers around two delusional Irish poets who, after ditching their obsessive stalker-fan, embark on a wild road trip to the Swiss Alps. Their journey is fueled by the desire for spiritual enlightenment, but it quickly turns into an unpredictable adventure.
The official synopsis describes the film’s narrative as a blend of strange encounters including a UFO hoax, an earth-worshipping cult, and a celebrity poetry reading. The poets eventually find themselves in Nevermore, a mysterious, fog-enshrouded town that appears frozen in a 1950s American style. In this eerie place, poetry is outlawed, phones are banned, and time seems to loop continuously.
Producing the film are Marc Holthuizen of Ward 9 Productions, Mark Forstater—known for Monty Python and the Holy Grail—and Nathan Neuman from Dreambird Studios. Executive producers include Claudia Landsberger and Mark Foligno, who worked on The King's Speech. Production is scheduled to begin in August 2026.
Jane Spencer expressed enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing that the film celebrates dreamers and nonconformists. She praised the chemistry between William Baldwin and Leo Gregory, stating they will bring depth and surprise to their roles.
Mark Forstater also commented, highlighting that Dreambird Studios sees this inventive road movie comedy as a unique offering that will resonate with viewers worldwide.
The Road to Nevermore promises to be a distinctive blend of dark humor and surreal storytelling, poised to capture the imaginations of audiences seeking something both quirky and thought-provoking.
