Former KISS guitarist Vinnie Vincent finishes first album in 30 years, 'Guitarmageddon'—but fans must pay $2 million to own the full release.

AceShowbiz - Vinnie Vincent, the former guitarist for Kiss from 1982 to 1984, has announced the completion of his first new album in 30 years, titled Guitarmageddon. Despite the long wait, this album comes with an extraordinary price tag: $2 million for the full release.
On his band's website, Vincent expressed pride in the record, calling it "a very special album" that has been "a long time in the making." However, fans hoping for a conventional release will be surprised – owning the entire album requires a $2 million purchase.
This hefty sum includes 10 fully mixed songs in their master, final product format, complete with all master artwork files, related posters, and 10 separate vinyl and CD packaging artworks tailored for each individual track. The buyer retains the option to release the album in any format they desire, whether vinyl, CD, or other configurations, partially or in whole. Yet, Vincent keeps control over marketing plans, and the rights to his name and likeness are not included unless purchased separately.
For those who find $2 million prohibitive, Vincent offers an alternative: individual tracks can be bought for $200,000 each. This means songs such as "Heavy Metal Poontang" or "Cockteazer" can be acquired separately, but with the same terms and conditions as the full album purchase.
The payment method accepted is Paypal, and all sales are final. According to the website, buyers should expect potential customs delays of up to four weeks, with the hard drive containing the masters shipped within two weeks after purchase completion. Demand appears brisk, as the online store notes only a few copies remain available.
Last year, Vincent garnered attention by selling CD singles of a new song, "Ride the Serpent," at $225 each. When fans criticized the price, he responded firmly on Facebook, stating, "If you like what I do, then support the artist." He emphasized the song’s value by comparing it to most albums, noting the price was reduced from $300 to $200 due to economic conditions, and that each copy was autographed.
"Ride the Serpent" marked Vincent's first new music since his 1996 EP, Euphoria. Around that time, he also began promoting Guitarmageddon, characterizing it as "escapism on steroids." He warned fans that without sufficient support, the album might never be released. "Am I fine with that? Absolutely. 100%. It will be the greatest album of all time, never to be heard, never to be released," he wrote.
Vincent contributed uncredited lead guitar parts on several tracks of Kiss's 1982 album Creatures of the Night before officially taking over guitar duties on the 1983 album Lick It Up. He departed the band in 1984 to pursue a solo career.
The $2 million asking price for Guitarmageddon matches the amount Martin Shkreli paid for the Wu-Tang Clan's album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin in 2015. However, it is half the $4 million paid by a group called PleasrDAO for the same record in 2021. A notable difference is that the Wu-Tang album’s buyer was restricted from copying or distributing it, while Vincent offers release rights under his oversight.
