Lizzo announces new album 'Bitch' dropping June 5, with bold cover art and empowering themes. Title track arrives May 1.

AceShowbiz - Lizzo has announced her upcoming album titled Bitch, set to release on June 5. The announcement came on April 27, coinciding with the artist’s 38th birthday, when she shared the album artwork and urged fans to pre-order the project via Instagram.
The cover art features a provocative image of Lizzo's right hand flipping the bird, with a tiny version of the singer positioned where the middle finger would usually be. Ahead of the full album release, the title track "Bitch" is scheduled to drop on May 1.
Bitch will be Lizzo's first full-length album since 2022’s Special and follows her 2025 mixtape My Face Hurts From Smiling. In a statement, the artist explained that the album’s theme centers on reclaiming the word "b-h" as a source of strength and empowerment. She described the term as one that historically diminished women but has been transformed by many into a symbol of confidence and unapologetic self-love.
Lizzo highlighted that many influential female musicians, including Meredith Brooks and Missy Elliott, have embraced the term positively. She expressed that naming her album Bitch was fitting because the word has become her favorite when used on her own terms, reinforcing her identity as "100% that b-h."
So far, fans have been introduced to one track from the upcoming album: the lead single "Don't Make Me Love U," which was released on March 20. The album’s Spotify preview lists a total of 12 tracks, featuring titles such as "A Toast," "Happy 2 Be," "She Stole My Man," "Whose Hair Is This," "Little Black Cat," "Sexy Ladies," "That Grrrl," "Too Nice," "Like a Crime," and "Goodmorning!"
Originally, Lizzo had intended to follow Special with an album called Love in Real Life. However, after releasing singles "Still Bad" and "Love in Real Life" last year, she decided to shelve that project. In an interview with Vulture in September, she explained that the material no longer reflected what she was feeling creatively. She said, "I was like, 'I need to do s-t differently, and I don't know what it is, but I'm going to just start following my instincts.'"
The announcement of Bitch continues to build anticipation for Lizzo's next chapter, showcasing her commitment to embracing bold themes and personal empowerment through her music.
