Both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, who portrayed iconic characters Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, respectively, have publicly discussed their conversations with Ryan Coogler about the vision behind the new take on the long-running sci-fi series. While neither actor has confirmed their return, Gillian Anderson appears open to reprising her role.

Now, Robbie Amell, who joined The X-Files during its final two seasons as Agent Miller, has shared his enthusiasm for the reboot in an interview. He described himself as a "huge fan" of Ryan Coogler, adding that the director "doesn’t miss."

Robbie Amell expressed excitement that Ryan Coogler secured the blessing of the original series creator, Chris Carter, and noted the positive response from Gillian Anderson. He said, "I'm not nervous about anything. I'm a huge Ryan Coogler fan. He doesn't miss. For him to get the blessing of Chris Carter, and for Gillian to be talking about how excited she is for it? I mean, great. I'm very excited to see what he does. I have no reservations."

Now, Ryan Coogler, known for directing blockbuster films such as Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is attached as director and writer of the reboot’s pilot episode. He is collaborating with showrunner Jennifer Yale, while Chris Carter serves as an executive producer on the project.

Currently, only the pilot episode is in development, with Hulu set to decide later whether to greenlight the full series. The reboot stars Danielle Deadwyler and Himesh Patel as new FBI leads whose investigations will mirror the dynamic of Mulder and Scully.

David Duchovny has noted uncertainty about whether the reboot will share the same universe as the original series.
