AceShowbiz - Offset is currently dealing with a new legal challenge while recovering from a shooting incident outside a Florida casino. The rapper is being sued over an alleged unpaid gambling debt totaling $100,000.
The lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, was filed by Detroit’s MotorCity Casino Hotel. It claims that in March 2024, Offset, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, borrowed $100,000 through a casino credit line while gambling at the venue.
According to court documents, Offset signed an agreement permitting the casino to withdraw the owed amount directly from his bank account if he failed to repay the debt. However, the casino alleges that attempts to collect the funds were unsuccessful due to insufficient money in his account.
The MotorCity Casino is pursuing legal action against Offset for breach of contract, fraud, and other related claims concerning the outstanding balance.
A spokesperson for Offset responded to the lawsuit by stating, “We are working toward a resolution.”
This legal issue follows closely after Offset was shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The incident happened during a violent altercation involving Lil Tjay’s entourage. Offset sustained non-life-threatening injuries and remains in stable condition.
Following the shooting, Lil Tjay denied the accusations but publicly called Offset a “rat” and threatened him in front of reporters after his release from jail.
The $100,000 lawsuit adds to a series of financial troubles for Offset. Last year, he reportedly paid over $1.5 million after the IRS filed a federal tax lien against him.
As Offset recovers physically, he now faces mounting legal and financial hurdles that could impact his future endeavors.
