AceShowbiz - Olivia Dean continues to make waves in Australia’s music scene, dominating both the singles and albums charts once more.
Her hit single “Man I Need” has climbed back to No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart, marking its 20th non-consecutive week at the summit. This achievement places the track as the No. 2 longest reigning single in the history of the ARIA charts, which began tracking in 1983. With “Dance Monkey” by Tones and I holding the record at 24 weeks, Olivia Dean is closing in on the top spot.
On the albums side, Olivia Dean’s The Art Of Loving has returned to No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, achieving its 11th non-consecutive week at the peak. This comeback dethrones BTS, whose album ARIRANG enjoyed a two-week reign before being overtaken.
Olivia Dean is also notable for replacing herself at the top of the singles chart. Her collaboration with Sam Fender, “Rein Me In”, which spent a week at No. 1, slipped to No. 2 as “Man I Need” rose again.
The latest ARIA charts, published on Friday, April 10, did not feature any new entries on the singles front, and only one local act made an appearance: Tame Impala’s track “Dracula” dropped from No. 4 to No. 5.
Meanwhile, the albums chart welcomed some fresh faces this cycle. Australian pop artist Peach PRC debuted at No. 4 with her new album Porcelain, released via Island/Universal. Peach PRC previously topped the chart with her 2023 EP Manic Dream Pixie and earned three ARIA Award nominations that year.
Also new to the all-genres albums chart are Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy, whose album The Weight Of The Woods entered at No. 17, and Canadian rock duo Angine de Poitrine, marking their first chart appearance with the independently released Vol. II at No. 21.
Additionally, bass virtuoso Thundercat claimed No. 28 with his independently issued album Distracted, while U2’s surprise EP Easter Lily debuted close behind at No. 30.
With both singles and albums charts reflecting strong performances, Olivia Dean remains a dominant force in Australia’s music industry, demonstrating impressive staying power and broad appeal.
