AceShowbiz - A woman accused of stalking and threatening Lindsey Buckingham for several years was arrested in Indiana following criminal charges filed in Los Angeles.
Michelle Dick, 55, was taken into custody in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Saturday, April 11, approximately one week after a judge in Los Angeles issued a warrant for her arrest. Court records reviewed by Billboard reveal that Dick is currently being held without bail in an Indiana jail while prosecutors prepare to seek her extradition to California.
During her initial court appearance on Monday, April 13, Dick requested a public defender. Her next scheduled court date is April 27.
Last week, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office formally charged Dick with multiple offenses, including stalking, making criminal threats, assault with a deadly weapon, and battery, encompassing both felony and misdemeanor counts.
According to prosecutors, Dick has been harassing Buckingham since 2021 through persistent stalking and threats of violence. The situation escalated last month when she allegedly physically assaulted the Fleetwood Mac frontman on two occasions in Los Angeles County. The charges claim she struck him with her vehicle and sprayed him with an unidentified substance.
Buckingham had previously secured a restraining order against Dick earlier in 2024. The court order required her to keep away from his family and cease all contact. In court filings related to the restraining order, Buckingham stated that Dick began calling both him and his family members in 2021, making disturbing claims that she was his child and threatening to kill them.
The restraining order petition also detailed incidents where Dick reportedly phoned venues where Buckingham was scheduled to perform in 2022, issuing threats. She reportedly ceased contact for some time but reemerged in 2024, showing up uninvited at the family’s Los Angeles residence and continuing to make threatening calls.
In his declaration to the court, Buckingham described Dick as “clearly mentally unfit and harboring delusions,” making her unpredictable and frightening.
Representatives for Buckingham have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the arrest of Dick.
This case highlights the ongoing challenges faced by public figures when dealing with persistent and escalating threats from individuals exhibiting concerning behavior.
Authorities in both Indiana and California are continuing their work to ensure proper legal proceedings as Dick awaits further court appearances and potential extradition.
