AceShowbiz - In a vibrant Super Bowl commercial for poppi, Charli XCX and Rachel Sennott bring a fresh twist to a mundane classroom setting. The chaotic 30-second spot features the duo crashing a college lecture, transforming it into an electrifying club atmosphere.
Unveiled just before its airing on February 8, the ad begins with a group of tired students watching an elderly professor scribble complex math equations on a chalkboard. The scene takes a wild turn when one student pops open a can of poppi, prompting the professor—who dramatically reveals himself to be the British dance-pop sensation Charli XCX—to shed his traditional attire. In a comical twist, Rachel Sennott crashes through the ceiling, adding to the chaos.
“What is this?” Sennott asks, bewildered. To which Professor Charli quips, “I think it’s just a vibes thing.” This line sets the stage for a spontaneous rave that erupts in the classroom, complete with flashing lights, a flame thrower, and even a horse adorned with glowing neon reins.
Directed by Aiden Zamiri, a regular collaborator with Charli XCX, the ad showcases the energetic vibe that both stars bring to the screen. Zamiri is also known for directing Charli's mockumentary, "The Moment," which featured Sennott as well. This ad is part of a larger trend this year, with various celebrities taking part in Super Bowl commercials, including Sabrina Carpenter for Pringles, and Benson Boone teaming up with Ben Stiller for Instacart.
This isn't Charli XCX's first venture into Super Bowl advertising. Last year, the three-time Grammy winner shared the screen with Martha Stewart in an Uber Eats campaign, showcasing her flair for blending entertainment with marketing.
The 2026 Super Bowl, held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, began with performances from artists like Coco Jones and Brandi Carlile, before the Seattle Seahawks faced off against the New England Patriots. This year's commercial offering is a testament to the growing trend of integrating pop culture with the Super Bowl experience.
