AceShowbiz - Rhea Seehorn has made headlines after winning her first Golden Globe award for best performance by a female actor in a drama TV series for her role in Pluribus. During her acceptance speech at the 2026 Golden Globes, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Vince Gilligan, stating, “thank you for writing me the role of a lifetime.”
Upon receiving the prestigious award, Seehorn admitted to feeling “shocked” by the recognition. She took a moment to acknowledge Queen Latifah, who presented her with the honor, reminiscing about their first meeting two decades ago. “Oh my gosh, Queen Latifah, I met you about 20 years ago, between jobs at a Koo Koo Roo, and you were so nice, so thanks,” she recalled. In a humorous twist, she shared a line from her pre-prepared speech: “Sorry, my speech says, ‘Get a prescription for beta-blockers.’ But I did not, sorry. I’m gonna do my best.”
As she continued her speech, Seehorn praised her fellow nominees, which included notable talents like Kathy Bates for Matlock, Britt Lower for Severance, Helen Mirren for Mobland, Bella Ramsey for The Last of Us, and Keri Russell for The Diplomat. “I’m sorry, I’m just a little shocked,” she said, acknowledging the incredible talent in the room. “I appreciate being listed with you.”
In her speech, Seehorn also expressed gratitude toward the women in attendance, recognizing their support. “I’ve been to a lot of these parties that get pretty scary for someone like me sometimes, and the women in this room have been incredible in the last couple of weeks. Thank you for that,” she noted, highlighting the camaraderie among female colleagues.
This award marks Seehorn's first Golden Globe win, following her first nomination this year. Her nomination was part of Pluribus' two nominations, which also included a nod for best drama TV series.
In her heartfelt tribute to Vince Gilligan, she stated, “Speaking of pinch me moments, thank you for writing me the role of a lifetime. And even more than that, thank you for having belief in me. That is beyond. You make me wanna be better every day. I really appreciate it.” She concluded her speech by thanking the cast and crew of Pluribus, as well as Apple TV, Sony, and her family.
“And thank you to the Golden Globes voting party,” she finished, expressing her profound gratitude. “I’m still so grateful that I get to do this for a living, and this is incredible icing on that cake.”
