In an unexpected twist, Dave Coulier faced a near-death experience during the final stages of his chemotherapy treatment as the actor battled through his toughest days.

AceShowbiz - Dave Coulier, widely recognized for his role in "Full House," recently opened up about his intense battle with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma and the unexpected complications he faced in the homestretch.

Coulier, 65, shared his journey on the "How Rude, Tanneritos!" podcast with his former co-stars, revealing the harrowing ordeal of his last chemotherapy sessions.

Diagnosed in October 2024, Coulier underwent six rounds of chemotherapy. He described the cumulative effect of the treatment as draining, with his blood levels plummeting, making his immune system particularly vulnerable.

"My blood levels were so low because after chemo treatment, your red blood cells dive. All your levels, your white blood cells, everything, just your immune system just kind of crashes," he explained.

During this vulnerable period, Coulier caught a cold, which rapidly escalated due to his weakened immunity. Unable to get out of bed for ten days, he initially attributed his symptoms to the aftereffects of chemotherapy. However, his wife, Melissa Bring, urged him to see a doctor when she noticed his fever.

Despite his initial reluctance, Coulier ultimately ended up in the hospital. "I couldn't move, I couldn't get out of bed, and finally Mel said to me, 'Something else is going on. We've gotta get a doctor over here,' " he recalled.

Hospitalized for four days with an IV of antibiotics, doctors ran several tests and eventually identified the presence of rhinovirus, a common cause of colds. Given his condition, this common virus posed a severe threat to Coulier's health.

Physicians warned Coulier that had he delayed seeking medical help by another 48 hours, the outcome could have been fatal.

"Because my white blood cell count was so low, it wasn't able to fight off this common cold virus. My doctors later told me, if you would have waited another 48 hours, you would have been in a real battle and we might not have been able to turn this around," he shared.

In a heartening turn of events, Coulier's immune system began to regenerate, and his fever eventually subsided, allowing him to return home. On March 31, a representative for Coulier confirmed that he was cancer-free, having successfully completed his final round of chemotherapy.

Throughout this challenging journey, Coulier has also made significant lifestyle changes, including adjustments to his diet to bolster his immune system. Reflecting on his experience, he expressed gratitude for the support from his wife and healthcare team. Now he looks forward to a healthier future.
