AceShowbiz - The season 2 premiere of "The Valley" served up no shortage of drama as longstanding tensions between Kristen Doute and Janet Caperna reached a boiling point. At Brittany Cartwright's white party airing on April 15, the feuding costars sat down to discuss the status of their fragile friendship.
Kristen, 42, told Janet, 34, she had her reservations about rekindling their relationship, highlighting the hurtful comments Janet made during her pregnancy.
"I feel very reluctant in hearing that you actually want to be friends with me," Kristen said. "After the summer, you went really hard. You did a podcast and said, 'I don't want your baby to come to full term. I didn't support your pregnancy.' "
Janet quickly apologized for her remarks but sought to explain the context. She cited stressful conversations with Brittany Cartwright where alarming comments allegedly made by Zach Wickham added to her anxiety.
"Brittany comes to me and says Zach [Wickham] was saying, 'He doesn't care if you miscarry,' " Janet shared. "That f***ed me up. That gave me so much anxiety at the end of my pregnancy. I was not OK."
However, Kristen was not appeased. "Let's take him out of it!" she demanded. "Just say, 'I'm sorry I said [it].' You're still giving me this gaslight apology that includes Zach's demonic behavior … Your apology feels so not genuine."
In May 2024, Janet had candidly opened up on the "Gabbing With Gib" podcast about her desire to be surrounded by supportive individuals during her pregnancy.
"I wanted to be my true self and surround myself with people that wanted to see my pregnancy go to full term and see me become a mom and have a healthy child," she shared. "Now I'm pretty certain that that is not what Kristen and Zach wanted."
Although Zach hasn't had a direct conversation with Janet yet in this season, he admitted to feeling remorse for his past actions. "I definitely said some things I take full responsibility for," he confessed to Kristen and Nia Sanchez earlier in the season premiere. "I've apologized."
Kristen, however, wants Janet to be more accountable and honest about her behavior. "Janet tried to paint me as a complete a**hole liar all of last summer," she said in a confessional. "Just own your own feelings instead of running away."
As tensions continue to simmer between these reality TV stars, viewers can look forward to more confrontations and hopefully, some resolutions as the season unfolds.
