AceShowbiz - Mickey Rourke has officially exited "Celebrity Big Brother UK" following bouts of "inappropriate language" and "unacceptable behavior," according to a spokesperson for the reality show in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor's removal comes after a heated disagreement with former "Love Island" contestant Chris Hughes, during which Rourke showed "threatening and aggressive" behavior.
The controversies began almost as soon as the cast made public entrances on the show. Rourke was scrutinized for his creepy behavior when he was leering at the female host AJ Odudu.
Once entering the house, Rourke warned fellow contestants about his "short fuse" and violated the house rule by sleeping on a couch.
He eventually took it too far with his disturbing remarks directed towards fellow housemates. During a candid conversation with former "Dance Moms" star Jojo Siwa about her sexuality, Rourke made crass comments, saying he'd make her straight."
The incident escalated, culminating in Rourke uttering a homophobic slur. Additionally, his comments about the show's eviction rules, specifically singling out the queers only added to the tension.
Rourke did attempt to mitigate the backlash by apologizing in the "Big Brother" diary room, stating, "I apologize. I don't have dishonorable intentions - I'm just talking smack. I wasn't taking it all so serious. I didn't mean it in any bad intentions and if I did, sorry."
However, this apology did little to quell the growing outrage among viewers and fellow contestants. However, he only got a warning and not an eviction.
The tipping point came when Bella Thorne, a former co-star in the 2020 horror film "Girl", publicly accused Rourke of misconducts on set. In a damning Instagram post, the actress detailed a disturbing on-set experience, "This f**king dude. GROSS."
"I had to work with this man - in a scene where I'm on my knees and with my hands zip-tied around my back. He's supposed to take a metal grinder to my knee cap and instead he used it on my genitals through my jeans."
"Hitting them over and over again. I had bruises on my pelvic bone," she recalled. "Working with Mickey was one of the all-time worst experiences of my life working as an actress."
