Celebrated actress Meryl Streep has reportedly entered negotiations to take on the iconic role of Aslan in Netflix's upcoming film adaptation of 'The Chronicles of Narnia'.

AceShowbiz - Meryl Streep is reportedly in discussions for a major role in Greta Gerwig's upcoming "Narnia" remake. According to Nexus Point News, the actress is eyed to voice Aslan the Great Lion, a character portrayed as male in C.S. Lewis' beloved "The Chronicles of Narnia" series.
Gerwig's film adaptationis expected to tackle the sixth book in the series, "The Magician's Nephew", which explores the origin of Narnia. The narrative centers on Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer, two children who stumble upon a magical world through the powers of Digory's uncle. Aslan, in this story, is depicted as Narnia's creator, protector, and guide.
Charli XCX and Daniel Craig are also being courted for critical roles in the project. The "Brat" musician is in talks to portray the White Witch while the former James Bond actor is being considered for the role of Uncle Andrew Ketterley.
The film will mark Greta Gerwig's first movie project, following her record-breaking success with Margot Robbie's "Barbie".
