AceShowbiz - The adventures of the laid-back yet formidable stuntman Cliff Booth, brought to life by Brad Pitt in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," are set to continue in a new and intriguing Netflix project.
Brad Pitt, 61, is teaming up once more with director David Fincher, renowned for their previous collaborations on "Fight Club," "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," and "Se7en." This unexpected project will feature a script by Quentin Tarantino, who directed "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood."
While the project remains untitled, it is expected to begin shooting in the summer. The Hollywood Reporter describes it as "derivative" of the previous film whereas The Playlist calls it a sequel. Regardless, the new project will expand on Pitt's character, Cliff Booth, who earned the actor an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
In the original film, Cliff Booth served as the stuntman for Leonardo DiCaprio's TV star character, Rick Dalton. Margot Robbie also starred in the film as Sharon Tate, whose fate was altered in Tarantino's alternate historical narrative due to Booth's heroic actions.
Tarantino had previously planned to bring back Cliff Booth for his project "The Movie Critic," a 1970s-set screenplay about a movie reviewer for an adult magazine, which he has since shelved. The writer-director also considerably expanded Booth's story in his novel adaptation of "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood."
As fans await more details about the project, they can look forward to seeing Pitt next in Joseph Kosinski's "F1," where he plays a Formula One driver in the 1990s. It's set to release on June 27.
