AceShowbiz - Katie Thurston, widely recognized as "The Bachelorette" star, offered an update about her health following a setback in her battle with cancer. The reality TV star confirmed her cancer has spread to other parts of her body.

The 34-year-old confirmed the diagnosis through an emotional video on Instagram, sharing the heartbreaking news that her cancer "has spread to the liver. It is fairly small, however, that does put me at stage four."

This revelation came four days after announcing the potential progression of her stage three invasive ductal carcinoma to stage four, due to suspicious signs on her liver.

Thurston's journey began in February with an initial stage three diagnosis. However, a recent PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scan detected some suspicious spots on her liver, prompting further investigation.

Prioritizing fertility before cancer treatment, Thurston disclosed that it had been 43 days since her initial diagnosis without any treatment. She has now started a new treatment plan, involving chemotherapy, which is set to begin next Friday.

Despite the daunting reality of a stage four diagnosis, Thurston remains hopeful. "I know stage four can sound very scary, and it can be," she remarked. "However, given that I am triple positive and the spots on my liver are fairly small and detected early, I feel very optimistic on my outcome. I'm very confident in the team at Columbia."

Thurston detailed her treatment, describing the regimen as comprising six treatments, spaced three weeks apart. Each treatment day involves traveling, infusions, and recovery.

Throughout her journey, Thurston has been candid about her experiences, emphasizing the time-consuming nature of testing and preparation before starting cancer treatment. Her courage and openness aim to raise awareness and provide support to others facing similar battles.
