The 37-year-old musician elaborated on her journey of understanding these conditions and the impact they have had on her life. "Got diagnosed w ADHD / autism this year and realized I'm prob dyslexic which is why I can't spell at all without spellcheck," Grimes wrote.

She reflected on how early diagnosis might have altered her development, saying, "Had we known this when I was a child I would have worked so much less hard, been on drugs, and so many of the weird obsessions and motivations I had would have been seen as pathological."

The Canadian-born artist also discussed the exacerbation of her ADHD symptoms in the absence of avid reading and criticized misinformation in online mental health communities. "My ADHD symptoms were infinitely worse when I wasn't an avid reader," she noted.

Grimes expressed concern about the "uninformed social media mental health subculture," describing some of these accounts as "extreme infohazards" that can adversely affect individuals.

Furthermore, Grimes touched upon the potential negative consequences of screen addiction and dopaminergic burnout, suggesting that a significant portion of ADHD could be attributed to these factors.

Grimes has also been vocal about protecting the privacy of her children with ex-partner Elon Musk. The couple shares three children, including 4-year-old X Æ A-Xii. Recently, Grimes has taken legal steps to keep her children out of the public eye, emphasizing the adverse effects of internet exposure on young lives.

She articulated her frustrations with the lack of legal protections, stating, "The state of my children's lives being public is of grave concern to me and I think about how to solve this every day. It's insane to me that there's no way to deal with this."
