What happens when late-night comedy meets corporate controversies? A perfect storm of monologues and Twitter wars. Dive into the latest drama surrounding Elon Musk, Jimmy Kimmel, and Tesla.

AceShowbiz - Elon Musk and his electric vehicle company, Tesla, found themselves in the spotlight this week - but not for reasons they'd like. Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel took aim at Tesla's woes during his monologues on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, setting off a chain reaction on social media and beyond, including from Musk himself.

On Tuesday, March 18, Kimmel humorously remarked about the recent downturn in Tesla's fortunes. He highlighted how Tesla stock has plummeted and highlighted the mass protests across the country against Musk's company.

"Here's the thing, I get that people are upset," Kimmel weighed in. "Burning a car might not be great for the environment. I don't think that's what they had in mind when they invented the electric car."

"In Las Vegas yesterday, someone threw a Molotov cocktail at a Tesla service center. At least five Teslas blew up, one from the Molotov and four because that's just what Teslas do sometimes," he added with a punchline.

Kimmel then played an interview where Musk said he was confused as to why people attacked his company, "Tesla is a peaceful company. I've never done anything awful. I think we just have a deranged... there is some kind of mental illness thing going on here. It doesn't make any sense."

However, the ABC late-night host quickly gave his two cents on the matter, "Well, let me see if I can explain it for you. When you pull out a chainsaw to celebrate firing thousands of people, they get mad."

In response to the biting episode, Elon Musk tweeted, "What a jerk." The Tesla boss added in another post, "He's such an unfunny jerk."

Kimmel, however, was unfazed. By Wednesday, he doubled down, "Tesla is not having a good week. Today they issued a recall of nearly all 46,000 of their Cybertrucks. That's the eighth Cybertruck recall since they came out in November of 2023."

"While no one should be setting anything on fire, ever, people are mad at Elon Musk for randomly and gleefully putting thousands of Americans out of work, including veterans," he added, referring to Musk's controversial moves as Donald Trump's close aide.

"The MAGA gang - which has been very against any kind of violent protest since January 7, was it? 2021? That's when they started being against it - they are highly upset," Kimmel quipped.

Given the ongoing exchanges and the debates they have sparked, it's clear that the tensions between the left-leaning commentators like Kimmel and the conservatives who support Musk are far from resolving. What remains to be seen is whether this public feud will affect Tesla's image and stock any further.

As things stand, both Kimmel and Musk are unlikely to step down from their positions, ensuring more headlines in the future. One thing's for sure: it's never a dull week when comedy collides with corporate America.
