In an unexpected turn of events, Sharon Stone took to social media to reveal her abrupt removal from the upcoming sequel, 'Another Simple Favor', following its SXSW premiere.

AceShowbiz - "Another Simple Favor", the sequel to the 2018 hit "A Simple Favor", directed by Paul Feig, is set to release on May 1 and has already generated buzz with its cast led by Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick. It amplified when Sharon Stone left a surprising comment under an E! News Instagram post about the film's SXSW premiere.

"I LOVED being cast and removed from my role unexpectedly for no reason at all LOVED it 👏👏👏," she wrote in a rather snarky tone, seemingly feeling blindsided by the snub.

Following Stone's claim, no official explanation has been provided by Amazon MGM Studios or Feig regarding her removal. The incident is reminiscent of past Hollywood recasting dramas, such as the high-profile cut of Adrien Brody from Terrence Malick's "The Thin Red Line", which also caught the actor off guard.

"Another Simple Favor" continues the story of Stephanie (Kendrick) and Emily (Lively), transposing the action from suburban Connecticut to the picturesque Italian Riviera. The plot thickens as Stephanie, now an accomplished author, encounters Emily once again under mysterious and potentially deadly circumstances at a wedding.

The film also stars Henry Golding, Michele Morrone, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Ian Ho, and Kelly McCormack.

The SXSW premiere was not without its share of drama. Speculation about a feud between Lively and Kendrick was nipped in the bud by Feig, who bluntly refuted claims of tension between the co-stars.

However, Lively's ongoing legal tussle with "It Ends With Us" co-star and director Justin Baldoni became a talking point at the event, adding another layer to the film's behind-the-scenes intrigues.

Despite the drama, Lively remained upbeat, gushing, "I love this character so much. It's probably my favorite character I've ever been fortunate enough to play."

Meanwhile, Kendrick dodged questions about how Lively's legal issues might impact the film, humorously quipping, "Why? What happened? I did ayahuasca [plant-based psychedelic] and the last year of my life has been gone. But I hear the movie is amazing."

As the premiere date approaches, one thing is for sure: "Another Simple Favor" is set to deliver both onscreen thrills and offscreen drama.
